Rishi Kumar is a co-founder of IUE. Rishi is a food, health, and gardening educator who speaks, teaches, and consults throughout Los Angeles.  His previous projects include The Growing Home, a model of suburban sustainable living in Diamond Bar, CA.  Rishi also started the first community garden at UC San Diego. He currently spends most of his time working to develop new projects at IUE and bringing on new stakeholders and ideas.

Carter Wallace is a co-founder of IUE.  After studying music and working as a musician for many years, Carter decided to change his direction after learning more about the injustices of the industrial food system and feeling the benefits of healthy food and healthy communities.  In 2012, Carter began producing the radio program “Focus on Food” on KPFK 90.7FM in LA, which he continues to produce today.  Currently, Carter is working on overall design elements of IUE and attracting inspired and visionary people to the project.
